Press Calf

  1. Adjust the leg press seat so your knees are bent at 90 degree angles when your feet are flat on the platform.

  2. Release the safety bars on the side and allow the platform to come up fully in front of you.

  3. Sit up tall and place the balls of your feet on the platform, toes pointed slightly outward. Make sure your entire feet are firmly placed with your heels extending off the platform.

  4. Maintaining an upright posture, engage your core and ensure your lower back remains against the seat pad.

  5. Inhale and with control, press the platform down by extending at your ankles, lifting your heels as high as possible and flexing your calf muscles. Make sure your thighs and glutes remain still.

  6. Hold the contracted position for a brief pause when your heels reach the highest point.

  7. Slowly lower back down to the start position in a controlled motion to complete one rep. Make sure you do not let the platform fully rest on the stops.

  8. Repeat for the desired number of reps or until fatigue in the calf muscles. Make sure you do not bounce or use momentum to move the platform.
