Preacher Curls EZ Barbell
Choose a weight that allows you to complete controlled reps. Start lighter if you're new to preacher curls.
Sit at a preacher curl bench and rest your upper arms on the padded support. This keeps your arms in place and isolates the biceps.
Hold the EZ bar with an underhand, shoulder-width grip. Your palms should face forward.
Let the bar hang at full arm extension. Initiate the curl by flexing at the elbows and bring the bar up toward your shoulders.
Focus on using your biceps to lift the weight. Go through the full range of motion from full elbow extension at the bottom to full contraction at the top.
Slowly lower the bar back to the starting position in a controlled motion. Do not allow gravity to pull it down.
Keep your upper body stable and avoid swinging or rocking to get momentum.
Breathe out as you curl the bar up and breathe in as you lower it. Do not hold your breath..
You can vary your grip width on the EZ bar to hit the biceps from different angles. A closer grip will emphasize the short head.
